Viewing and Interpreting Results

Survey results provide insights into team health and engagement. Here’s how to interpret them.

Viewing results

Aggregate results:
  • Overall response rates
  • Average scores by question
  • Distribution of responses
Team-level results:
  • Breakdowns by team or department
  • Comparisons across teams
Trends over time:
  • How scores change across survey periods
  • Improving or declining engagement
Open-ended responses:
  • Themes in qualitative feedback
  • Specific concerns or suggestions

Interpreting survey data

High response rates matter: If only 30% complete a survey, results may not be representative. Look for trends, not single data points: One low score isn’t a crisis. Declining scores over time are. Context matters: A drop in engagement after layoffs isn’t surprising. Understand what’s happening in the organization. Act on results: If you collect feedback but never act on it, people will stop participating.
