Visibility and Privacy

Visibility settings control who can see feedback, meetings, reviews, and other data.

Feedback visibility

Default visibility options:
  • Private to recipient
  • Shared with manager
  • Public
Admins can set organization-wide defaults.

Meeting visibility

One-on-ones: Typically visible to both participants and the manager’s manager (skip-level) Team meetings: Visible to all participants Private notes: Private meeting notes are visible only to the person who wrote them. Organization admins can see a list of organization-level private notes under Organization Settings for governance purposes, but cannot read individual note content. Private notes are included in the author’s event alerts so reminders and notifications stay complete.

Review visibility

Self-reviews: Visible to the employee and their manager Manager reviews: Visible to the employee, manager, and HR/People team Peer feedback: May be anonymized or attributed depending on settings

Survey anonymity

Admins configure whether survey responses are:
  • Anonymous (no attribution)
  • Named (attributed to individuals)

Best practices

  • Default to private for constructive feedback
  • Ensure survey anonymity to encourage honesty
  • Balance transparency with psychological safety
